pondering last night:
how much we all do to make our houses our homes. a refuge or haven...comfy and cozy, familiar and welcoming, filling full of special things and dear treasures.
it can be a good thing, a sweet thing....hospitality is good. sharing your home with others is good.
but i am so consumed with it at times, since getting this new-old house...how much effort and what lengths we do this, over and over to fill four walls up with stuff.....
amazed me at how often we don't do the same for our eternal home.
we can't take any of this stuff here with us....none of this stuff or these things has any eternal value or currency...
if our home is and will be with the Lord one day, shouldn't we make our home IN him ALL that we can now?
familiar and welcoming, filling our hearts full of His special things and His dear treasures, having a friend in Him that is comfy and and cozy and a refuge and haven for sure, so that going Home will truly be going home?
just thoughts. as i struggle with looking at the pottery barn catalogue, drooling and oohing and awing...instead of doing the same thing over the Word, which would enrich my heart views of my eternal home way more over just these four walls.....
