hand in hand

the other day at church. i rounded a corner to see liam and his friend, aislyn, walking into a big patch of bright sunshine down a long hallway with a huge window beaming light into every corner. with henry in between them. each holding his hand. three. two boys and a girl.

a big brother on the left. a big sister on the right. and the little brother in the middle.

that's what my heart saw. it stopped me in my tracks and took my breath away. and yet i smiled. i did not frown or despair.

it was the most beautiful foreshadowing a mom's heart who has a baby girl waiting for her in heaven could imagine.

not yet, but one day. one day, perfectness. at HOME, i pray i will see my three, who will walk hand in hand. and i will be there to smile with joy.
