be doers of the Word...

you can be a parent....but DOING parenting is different. it involves serving. and emptying of self. and persistance.

you can be married....but DOING marriage is way different. it is daily dying to self and putting the other first. and never quitting.

you can be a griever...but DOING grief and sorrow is different. it is choosing hope and the Joy of the Cross over emotions.

you can be a believer....but DOING the Christian faith walk is much much different. it is walking the talk, when the rubber meets the road.

Being is just a title.

Doing is an action.

we are to WALK in faith, WRESTLE with faith, TELL and SHARE our faith, WITNESS and PROCLAIM the gospel, LOVE our neighbors, BLESS our enemies and SERVE our God...

action. doing. not just being.

meditating on all of these ideas today and praying that the Lord would convict my heart where it needs pruning and mending, healing and restoring. and most of all, that He would restore to me the Joy of my salvation in Him, so that i would be able to press on, not give up, not give in or settle. for being just a title, for being. i long to be a doer of all of these precious titles he has blessed me with....
