Praise to the God of All Comfort
" Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."
2 Corinthians 1: 3-4
if you have lost anything at all....a child, a spouse, a marriage, a parent, and anything else that causes hurt and trauma...and if you've received comfort from God, you get this verse AND most importantly you live it out. and love others. and comfort them in their own times of suffering....
it's why your pain is not in vain. because He uses it to be a balm to others....
whether it's a hug or an ear to a crying friend, a homemade loaf of warm bread or hot meal to a weary friend, a handwritten note or letter, a phone call or message, a card with scripture truth for encouragement or fresh flowers left on a doorstep, a last minute date for tea after bedtime or putting a little something in the mail as a surprise for a new day.....sitting with a friend in church and praying for her as she sings...hugging someone a little longer than usual when you see them....
be comforted. comfort others.
it's so simple.
and sweet.
and gospel.
