Day Eight of Sydney's Grace to Others: public praise. This stained glass beauty was a gift from my mom. I've always loved the image of the older woman here with head down in prayer I say, praying for her little one. Already in eight days of kindness on purpose to others, I've noticed something. This isn't foreign to me. I was raised this way, watching my folks love on kids who needed parents, feeding them and covering them with blankets and love at our house, serving and gifting others who hurt or needed help. Being kind to waiters or toll booth workers, sending cards or care pkgs to lonely friends. Helping and supporting their new son in law all those years ago pursue his crazy music dream and taking time to rock nursery babies or even listen to wounded veterans tell stories at an ice cream shop in Madrid, NM for an hour. They modeled loving others for me, so really those muscles worked early on, that know where to find joy. They lived that out and still do. Anyone who knows my mom knows she loves deep and loves to give and help. And my dad, will hug you and cry and cuss all at the same time overwhelmed with his love for you! We can teach our kids hate and self OR we can teach them service and others. And me and my brother? We were groomed to love others and be kind thanks to how our folks love mercy. #syds30daysofgrace
