Day TWENTY of Sydney's Grace to Others

"Day 20 of Sydney's Grace to Others: while parking at target, I noticed a woman getting an older woman from the car in the rain, putting her in her wheelchair and having to get it assembled. One fumbling in the rain and the other helpless one just getting poured on in her chair.. Henry and I put up our umbrella for us and instead of going in quickly, we walked over to the older woman in the wheelchair and covered her with our umbrella while the younger woman worked on the chair..covering them both. They thanked us profusely but I told them it was nothing and we should all take care of each other and that we were glad to do it. We covered them both in sharing one umbrella up to the entry and they thanked us again..Told them if we saw them at checkout, we'd walk them back out to the car...I hesitated in sharing this one for several reasons: 1) didn't want it to come off as bragging. 2) it really made me sad at how surprised they were at random kindness. it was so obvious to me to help 3) I do believe with all my heart that I don't need 30 days of grace to serve and be kind or to have to tell others about. 4) any other given day, this act would have been quiet and private to me and Henry. BUT in efforts to show how 30 days is helping my heart, this sweet interaction blessed me to help and made me wonder how often we miss those moments bc we're too busy or distracted or turned inward or even busy with kids. may we always have eyes open to those who need our hands and feet and time and generosity. how I love that my little Henry got to use his hands and feet too to help, never too early to teach kindness in action! #syds30daysofgrace"
