Read me first

So the long awaited ultrasound finally took place. As Lyss has so beautifully shared with her writing about this pregnancy we have both been on the edge. I mean about to just jump off the cliff! For those who don't know let me recap. No that's too slow, let me sum up. We got preggers. Blood work looked good. Blood work took a dive. Miscarry we thought. Grieved all weekend. Monday bloodwork miraculously skyrocketed. Then didn't double like expected. More doubt. Doctors think we might have a tubal kid. Got sick. Pukey poopy vomit house took over. Missed monday ultrasound. Yesterday (thursday) went in for ultrasound with specialist. Found out that we DO NOT have a tubal pregnancy. It's in the right spot but measuring only 5 weeks instead of 6 like we thought. Meaning baby could have stopped growing 1 week ago. Bloodwork will tell us. More waiting. More worry. More doubt. More anxiety. God sure does like to wait. Blood work results come back...normal! HCG levels have soared. Meaning. Normal pregnancy thus Far. Whew. What a frreakin relief.

We thank all of you who have prayed consistently and offered support. It has made a difference in our life more than you know. Keep praying for this baby, we aren't out of the woods yet. We still have a heart to get started next week, the BETES to deal with. Heparin shots 2x a day. Bedrest probably. Dadgum it is not gonna be easy.

This song is a song of inspiration for the tiny life inside momma's belly, the same belly that our brave little girl used to live in just a year ago..and even mr. Liam once occupied. Whenever this song comes on you can do anything. Play it loud. Turn up the volume and hope and and pray for this little fighter....Hang in there little one it's gonna be a bumpy ride -love dad

Ian,
Your post has me in tears. The last sentence of "hang on little on, it's gonna be a bumpy ride..love dad" has me bawling. I mean, bawling like a baby. You are so sweet.

You know...this baby is going to be your little pistol. The one that its gonna be hard to get your hands on as they run faster ans faster from you saying "betcha can't catch me...betcha can't...noooooo dadddyyyyy noooooo......" I can hear it now :)

You, Lyss, and Liam hang on as well......hang on to He who matters most, ok?

we are pulling for all of you. this one's a fighter already and that is a good thing. i am relieved that everything is looking good at this point. and, yes, every day--every minute--is a gift and a blessing and something to be cherished. we look forward to meeting baby byrd, happy and healthy, in a matter of months. but don't think for one second that we won't be thinking about you guys all through this journey. we are here if you need us, just say the word.

and this might come in handy, too:
