biology..

biology can be so cruel.

4 months out and I should have remembered.

but i don't have a baby here to remind me.

i forgot about the 3-4 month mark where all of your hair seems to fall out in clumps. everywhere.

fills your shower drain, falls into everything you cook (including cupcakes for friends-gross, i know, sorry kenny)

it drove ian crazy when i would shed like this after liam was born. he hated taking showers after me.

we both forgot about it this time because sydney is not here...there is no proof around that my body's hormones are doing this for a reason.

be patient, ian. (and friends that i cook for)...it will soon pass.

just one more thing i have to go through that reminds me that my body is in charge and i am not..that my body doesn't care that my baby didn't make it, that she didn't come home with me....just because she died, it doesn't mean my post pregnancy "stuff" just goes away...i wish it did...i hate the reminders of what we have lost.

even though it is hair, it's one more thing to remind me that she is not here.

Oh I know. My sweet friend and hairdresser asked me how old Miller Grace would be the least time she did my hair, then nodded and said, "Yep. That's about right. You have new growth, where you lost all that hair a couple months ago." Blah. There's nothing quite like engorgement in the visitation line and feeling like Chewbacca (sp?) is in the drain, with no baby in the bouncy seat outside the curtain. I don't get it either, sweet friend.

Oh Alyssa, I'm so sorry. :-( It wouldn't even cross my mind that your body would do that.

It's why I got 18 inches cut off. So all that new growth wouldn't look so funny with my hair down to my waist.

yea, i told you about the disgusting hair ball kenny pulled out of the drain. mine has stopped falling out so heavily, but the new growth looks super neat sticking up all over the front of my hairline. and the cupcake? we seriously laughed abouut it. i mean, he has a wife who has given birth. he knows about the hair thing. and plus, someone made him cupcakes, because i sure as heck haven't. i shouldn't have told you but i thought it was so funny and something we can relate to. :)
