I will wait for You there
Down on my knees where I met You
Give You all of my cares
Find a grace to hold onto now
I’m calling for You
I will wait for You there
far from the world and it’s violence
It left broken and bare
I need to hear You in the silence now
I’m calling for You
And with outstretched arms
I will sing out melodies
And my beating heart
Will pour out a symphony
Hallelujah’s in the morning
Hallelujah’s in the night
I will wait for you as long as I have life
I will wait for You there
Down On my knees where I met you
Cause life is a war fought with tears
But You are the strength I hold onto now
I’m calling for you
-Phil Wickham (I Will Wait for You There)
This man's music touched me when I first heard him last year and I fell in love with the lyrics and melodies and it has blared many a times in our household in the last year. I had no idea that it would be like medicine for me in the season that was soon to descend upon our lives. Ironically, it is the only Christian music I can listen to right now. Christian music ticks me off at times and other music is just fluff..jazz has been comforting and the blues-well, enough said....but his voice, something about his cries, blazing loud in the chorus' and his humble lyrics have brought me much needed peace in the dark hours....it is now blaring once again loud in our home...right now, Liam and I have the windows open, hoping to usher in spring sooner and air out the "sickness" of our souls and our bodies....hope the neighbors like Phil Wickham, because that is what they are getting this morning while Liam and I clean and play. His music is a balm to my spirit right now. I highly recommend finding his music....
